The 2010 Starting Point Holiday Recital was Totally Awesome!

Barry Gordy would be Proud!

On Saturday, December 18th, the Starting Point Kids put on a Holiday Recital that was AWESOME! The shows title was "A Celebration of the Holidays: Nativity & Kwanzaa". The evening ended with a tribute to the music industry in Detroit with Starting Point's version of the Motown Revue.

All the students danced down the aisle to "Happy and You Know It"

The Lord's Prayer was lead by Austin Harris

The Welcome Address by Jeremiah Wilder

Introduction of the Pledge by James Weaver

The Scriptures were lead by Kameron Davenport

The Pre-K and Kindergarteners sang "Silent Night" in English and Spanish

Sabrina Hicks and Zoe Haynes told "The Meaning of the Candy Cane"

The children also re-enacted The Nativity

Dance Class 1 (Three Year Olds) danced to "Little Eskimo"

Sabrina Hicks and Darryl Mathis II played "Jingle Bells" on the Clarinet

The Four and Five Year Olds danced to "We Need a Little Christmas"

The Elementary students danced to "Like Dis"

We all were taught The Meaning of Kwanzaa

Then it was time for the MOTOWN REVUE...

With Berry Gordy Jr. (Austin Harris) and Smokey Robinson (Kareron Davenport)...

And The Supremes (Sydney Lane, Josie Snow, Jade May) singing "Stop in the Name of Love"...

And Stevie Wonder (Darryl Mathis II) singing "I Wish"...

And The Temptations (Kylan Sumling, Myron Clark III, Josef Weaver III, Malik Hicks, and Camryn Marcy-Hall) singing "Get Ready" and "My Girl"...

And Marvin Gaye (Josef Weaver III) and Tammi Terrell (Sabrina Hicks) singing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"...

And The Jackson 5 (Elizabeth Belik, Josie Snow, Kymora Lee, Amarlyanna Taylor, and Sydney Lane) singing "Stop The Love You Save"...

And finally, Michael Jackson (Kymora Lee) singing "Billie Jean".

Everyone had a wonderful time...
