WELCOME DETROIT LIONS!
The Detroit Lions made a visit to Starting Point on Wednesday, November 10, 2011. Our pals Coach Chris and Roary (the Lions mascot) made their visit quite memorable. Coach Chris explained the principals of being a L.E.A.D.E.R.:
L – Listen and Learn
E – Educated
A – Ambitious
D – Disciplined
E – Encouraging
R – Responsible
Roary roared and the children cheered. Roary, the Lion, entertained the kids while demonstrating all of the LEADER qualities that are needed to be successful in school and in life.
Roary, being the great silent comedian that he is, encouraged the kids to do well in school and he even showed them some great football skills as Coach Chris tossed the football around to him, student Ilyssa Dorsett and student Austin Harris.
After the talk Coach Chris and the Starting Point Dad's (Mr. B.J., Mr. Lofton, Mr. Harris and Phys. Ed. Teacher Mr. John) took the kids through some football drills that would help our school's athletes stay fit and have fun.
Thank you Coach Chris, Coach Dave, Roary and the Detroit Lions for another wonderful and fun-filled visit to our school.
